Polo’s Robot to Premiere at Flickerfest

Producer Melanie Brunt’s latest animation production Polo’s Robot, which is directed and animated by Peter Lowey will have it’s world premiere screening at Flickerfest International Short Film Festival in January 2011. The 9 minute short animation was funded by Screen Australia. Polo’s Robot is screening in competition in the ‘Best of Australian’ films category (in section 4) on Wednesday 12th and Thursday 13th January. Director/animator Peter Lowey will be attending the festival. Flickerfest runs from 7th to 16th January at the Bondi Pavilion in Sydney, Australia. For programme details click here.

Eugene Green Wins at Aguilar de Campoo

Michael Hill’s animation The Not-So-Great Eugene Green has won the Oceania Section of Aguilar de Campoo Short Film Festival in Spain. Unable to attend the festival, Michael accepted the award via a short clip which screened at the closing ceremony on 7th December. Lessons From The Night included on Deluxe DVD

At the AFI-Discovery Channel Silverdocs Documentary Film Festival in June 2009, Lessons From The Night was paired with the feature length documentary The Philosopher Kings. The two films’ themes related so well that the Transcendental Media invited Lessons From The Night to be included on the Deluxe Edition DVD of The Philosopher Kings. Eugene Green crowned Monkey King

The Not-So-Great Eugene Green has won the prestigious Monkey King award for ‘Best Foreign Short Animation‘ at the 2010 China International Cartoon and Animation Festival (CICAF). The animation is written and directed by Michael Hill and produced by Melanie Brunt. CICAF is China’s largest animation festival and attracts approximately 900,000 visitors. Producer Melanie Brunt has 2 short films screening at the 2010 St Kilda Film Festival; the documentary Lessons From The Night and animation The Not-So-Great Eugene Green are both in the Top 100 Short Films at the St Kilda Film Festival.
