Festival Update for Polo’s Robot

Well it’s been a busy few months for Polo’s Robot and director/animator Peter Lowey. In May 2011 Polo’s Robot screened in NSW at the Dungog Film Festival and the Australian International Animation Festival, before going to Scotland in June to screen at the Edinburgh International Film Festival. In June Peter Lowey was in France at the Annecy Animation Festival where his entry Sidewalk Scribble won theAnnecy YouTube Competition. Then it was back to Melbourne to take part in the Melbourne International Animation Festival, where Polo’s Robot won Best Australian Film. In July 2011 Polo’s Robot had it’s WA premiere at the Revelation Perth International Film Festival and it also screened again in Melbourne at Red Hot Shorts.

Polo’s Robot screening in Atlanta and Dungog!

The Screen Australia funded short animation Polo’s Robot has two screenings coming up in May – at the Atlanta Film Festival, in the US on Sunday 1st May and Monday 2nd May and at the Dungog Film Festival in NSW, Australia at the end of the month. Also screening at the Dungog Film Festival is the short film Fatso. Polo’s Robot is written, directed and animated by Peter Lowey and produced by Melanie Brunt. Fatso is written and directed by Irina Goundortseva and produced by Melanie Brunt.

Polo’s Robot Screening at the Adelaide Film Festival

Feather Films is very excited to announce that Polo’s Robot has been invited to screen at the Bigpond Adelaide Film Festival. The short animation, directed and animated by Peter Lowey and produced by Melanie Brunt, will screen on Friday 25th February and Friday 4th March. This is the second festival screening for the Screen Australia financed animation, as it premiered in January at Flickerfest in Sydney, Australia. Polo’s Robot to Premiere at Flickerfest

Producer Melanie Brunt’s latest animation production Polo’s Robot, which is directed and animated by Peter Lowey will have it’s world premiere screening at Flickerfest International Short Film Festival in January 2011. The 9 minute short animation was funded by Screen Australia. Polo’s Robot is screening in competition in the ‘Best of Australian’ films category (in section 4) on Wednesday 12th and Thursday 13th January. Director/animator Peter Lowey will be attending the festival. Flickerfest runs from 7th to 16th January at the Bondi Pavilion in Sydney, Australia. For programme details click here.

Eugene Green Wins at Aguilar de Campoo

Michael Hill’s animation The Not-So-Great Eugene Green has won the Oceania Section of Aguilar de Campoo Short Film Festival in Spain. Unable to attend the festival, Michael accepted the award via a short clip which screened at the closing ceremony on 7th December.
